Danny report: On the 30th we in OO-MAR left LJPZ in hot CAVOK weather, we took the opportunity for a route through the Brenner Pass. After clearing Venice we got a direct across the hills at FL70 towards Bolzano (LIPB) to find ourselves on a straight in at FL70 (mainly because of some granite below!). |

Am 30.6. verließen wir in OO-MAR Portoroz in heißem CAVOK Wetter. Wir nutzten die Gelegenheit um die Route über den Brenner zu nehmen. Nachdem wir an Venedig vorbei waren, bekamen wir ein direktes Routing über die Berge in FL70 Richtung Bozen (LIPB). Wir fanden uns wieder im direkten Endanflug - aus FL70 ! Hauptsächlich wegen der großen Menge Granit unter uns...... |

We left the cooler air for 36°C again down at the airport, passed customs and filed to EDMA (Augsburg) for refueling since there was no fuel available here and up again through the Brenner enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Alps! Nun ging es aus der schönen kühlen Luft wieder hinunter auf +36C am Flugplatz. Ab durch den Zoll und - mangels verfügbarem Sprit in Bozen - den Flugplan für das nächste Teilstück nach Augsburg aufgegeben. Und wieder hoch: über den Brenner und wir genoßen die wundervolle Landschaft der Alpen. |

After Augsburg our next planned stop was Speyer (EDRY), south of Frankfurt-Main on the Rhein) were one finds oneself almost opposite with a B747 (yes, in the air) when on final. Speyer is home to a really nice Technik museum worth a trip on itself, I promised myself to go back one day. It has an hotel on the site and the town is only a 20 minutes walk away, really a nice place for a stopover |

Nach Augsburg war der nächste geplante Stop Speyer (EDRY), südlich von Frankfurt/Main am am Rhein gelegen, wo man auch schon einmal einer B747 etwas dichter in der Luft begegnen kann. Speyer hat ein wirklich schönes Technikmuseum, das alleine die Reise wert ist. Ich nahm mir vor, eines Tages wieder zu kommen. Gleich am Flugplatz ist ein Hotel und die Stadt ist nur 20min zu Fuß entfernt. Ein wirklich schöner Platz für einen Zwischenstopp. |

This is where we met up with the rain again. The next day we left Speyer in rain but still in good visibility, flew along the USAF base Ramstein and Charleville towards Kortrijk, home again. We had completed another beautiful trip safely again! Thanks to everyone again for the nice company…and what is next? Aber hier trafen wir wieder den Regen. Am nächsten Tag verließen wir Speyer: in Regen doch noch mit guten Sichten. Entlang der US-Airbase Ramstein und Charleville in Frankreich ging es nach Kortrijk in Belgien womit wir wieder zu Hause waren. Wieder einmal war ein wunderschöner Fliegerurlaub sicher beendet worden.Danke an alle für die nette Gesellschaft..... und wohin gehts es als nächstes ? |
