From Cannes (France) to Castres (France)

David was at Castres to meet up with us - He'd had a fifty-minute car drive to take the first bunch of 'guests' back to his home. Now he had another load of wannabe drinkers - and he did it all with a smile. On arrival we found that his new abode had plenty of accommodation with ample room for tents in his garden. Four of us camped out; the other wimps took to the luxury of proper beds.

Once more we made use of the pool (cold - but refreshing!). That evening David produced a great barbeque and we had a concerted raid on David's wine stocks. We chatted long into the night, under a clear sky with gentle airs wafting around, keeping us cool. (At that precise moment I think I had doubts about whether I wanted to go home or not!)

Thursday 21st June - The morning was spent packing, swimming and watching how the French clean their chimneys as a man set about brushing out the huge Whiteley chimney. (The man actually seals himself inside the chimney and merrily brushes all the accumulated grunge into a bag - and he was wearing a white T-shirt - bizarre!)

David had the unenviable task of ferrying us all back to the airport - It was sad to say good bye to them both but we did promise to use him as a hotel again on our next visit to the region. Thanks Dave & Karen - It was wonderful - I hope the wimps made up their beds that morning!
