Once a year the european Grummans have a kind of family get-together.  Such meetings are always popular as they provide an opportunity for fellow flyers from all over Europe to renew their friendships.  Due to the long distances involved and the need to transit various countries the flights can be challenging and that always makes the annual event an exciting occasion.

Einmal im Jahr treffen sich die europäischen Grummans zum traditionalen „Familientreffen". Diese Treffen finden erfahrungsgemäß großen Anklang, da sich hier die Gelegenheit ergibt, Fliegerfreunde aus den verschiedenen europäischen Ländern wiederzusehen. Die Anreisen sind wegen der langen Entfernung durch verschiedene Länder oft eine fliegerische Herausforderung, so dass das Ereignis des Jahres immer eine aufregende Sache ist.

Last year's meeting was in Germany (Rinteln) but this time it was to be Valdera in Italy, the home of the Pisa Aero Club.  Preparations by the organising committee under the direction of the President Ermanno Ferro commenced a full year beforehand.  Experience was to hand in that Valdera had hosted us previously in 2005.  Perhaps that was the reason, despite the economic crisis, why over 80 people in around 25 Grumman airplanes from all over Europe made the journey from as far airfield as Tampere in Finland or from Scotland.

Nach dem letzten Treffen in Deutschland (Rinteln), geht es diesmal nach Valdera zum Aero Club Pisa.

Seit einem Jahr war dieses Treffen von einem Organisationskomitee unter der Leitung des Präsidenten Ermann Ferro vorbereitet worden. Erfahrungen gab es, denn bereits 2005 war Valdera Gastgeber für die AYA Europa. Vielleicht war das der Grund, warum - der Wirtschaftskrise zum Trotz - über 80 Personen in ca. 25 Grumman Flugzeugen aus ganz Europa anreisten, sei es aus Tampere in Finnland, oder aus Schottland.
