Much hubbub as messages were relayed of all those earth bound aviators from Denmark, Germany and Finland unable to break through the solid 'dag'. Danny De Brandt later reported that he had never known anything like it in his 32 years of ATC experience with weather around Brussels generally 700/800 metres then clearing but followed by thunderstorms. Not weather to be caught in! |

Saturday dawned bright, boding well for us to enjoy our planned trip for the day. We will not however talk about the bus. Suffice to say that it was a major talking point with its interesting selection of sounds during our travels. |

First stop was our local, very old gem of a church, Greenstead, which is considered the world's oldest wooden church. More info at: http://www.picturesofengland.com/England/Essex/Greenstead. . We were given a very interesting and informative talk by David Tester, the church warden, detailing the church's history. The ladies of the church community kindly provided teas and coffees in the churchyard before we departed to Cambridge in the company of Alex French,…... |

….. who joined us for the visit to his old stomping ground. He gave us all an insight into life as a student in this ancient seat of learning. It was free time to meander and enjoy the city, the colleges, their manicured lawns, and the shops if that took one's fancy. |

Following delivery to hotels and a freshen up, we were back at the Squadron for our first 'British' meal of the weekend, good old fish and chips. |
